Some five days ago I woke up with a pimple under my tongue, it looked white in the point, unfortunately I did not make a photo of it.
I contacted my dentist friend and he said it could be a salivary stone lodged at the exit of the canal of the sub-lingual salivary gland. I was to rinse with antiseptic (Chlorhexidine 0,20%) three times a day and go have an x ray of the bottom of the mouth to confirm stone, and have it extracted with fast and painless surgery. He also said not to mess with it or could have an infection sent to the gland behind or to the parotide glands. I should be careful because if I got an infection I would have to take antibiotics before being able to have the surgery.
I looked it up on the web and found places with the same problems I had which said that they had sucked sour candies and the it had gone in some days. Others said that lemonade could dissolve calcium deposits and other recommended malic acid from apples or apple cider vinegar to be taken with some warm water.
I did ALL.
- Prepared some lemonade and limeade and left it on the counter with a glass to sip along the day.
- Everyday I put some water in a glass, warmed it in the microwave and added a tablespoon of apple vinegar and downed it slowly.
- Also drank a lot of water (keep your urine almost white).
- I ate an apple a day.
- I got some lemon candies and sucked them during the day (the sweet part).
This is how it looked the second day, after the white point I had seen before broke off.
The third day it looked almost like the second, only a little swollen and more painful because I did not pay attention to my dentist and pressed hard with my tongue trying to have it get out to no avail.
The fourth day it was almost the same, maybe a little better.
The fifth day it looked like the fourth only a little more swollen.
The sixth day I woke up with a stone in my mouth, it looked like below. I noticed it was rounded all ways, not sharp like others I saw on the net, I think the vinegar dissolved the points allowing it to get out.
My tongue looked less swollen and had almost no pain.
Later learned that Vitamin C (500 to 1000mg/day) could have helped, as it helps avoid calcium depositing in soft tissue. I took vitamin C when I learned and have had not problems from then.
Warnings
- Beware if pain goes behind your tongue or to the side of the neck and see a doctor.
- Also, it may not work for you or you may have many in a row, it worked for me though.
